Feels like Spring in Columbia, South Carolina

Compared to last weekend when we were getting ready for the snow, the weather has definately improved and of course the start of baseball always makes me think about spring.


Drove downtown in Columbia, South Carolina over lunch. The University of South Carolina must be home for Baseball this weekend as the tailgating had begun at the new stadium located on the banks of the river. I haven't made it down for a game there yet, but I'm sure planning on making one this year.

I watched a special last night from MLB.TV about the top 50 prospects for 2010. Nice to see the Tampa Bay Rays have 4 of the top 50 prospects as identified by MLB.com. That bears well for them continuing to be competitive this season.

I'm also hoping for a return to excellence for the Atlanta Braves this season. After so many years of division winning baseball, the last couple of years have been tough for all the faithful. I'm hoping to get over to Turner Field to take in a game or two this year too.
